Camelina

The camelina plant may not be the most well-known, but it’s certainly among the rising stars. The freshly pressed oil from camelina seeds has a fantastic taste. While “new” might not be entirely accurate—camelina was already known to the Celts as an oil plant—it simply fell into obscurity over time. If you’re not a fan of flaxseed oil, our organic camelina oil is the perfect alternative, as it’s also rich in alpha-linolenic acid (Omega-3 fatty acids).

The plant’s official Latin name, Camelina Sativa, sounds quite beautiful, we think. You may have driven past a camelina field without recognizing it or perhaps mistook it for rapeseed, as both bloom in a vibrant yellow.
