Hemp is one of the world’s oldest cultivated plants, originally from Russia. Today, most cultivation occurs in Europe, where only low-THC varieties are allowed, and special permits are required. The benefits and positive impacts of the hemp plant are increasingly recognized. Beyond industrial uses, more and more quality producers are turning to hemp-based products due to its diverse applications—paper, clothing, insulation, soaps, oils… the potential uses of this raw material seem limitless. Hemp also absorbs CO₂ and improves soil structure, making it ideal for crop rotation.
Local hemp is the foundation for a wide range of products here at Schalk Mühle: oil, cream, pesto, seeds, snacks, powders, bars...
