Nestled northwest of Vienna in the charming village of Sonndorf, the Biohof Deim is where Margit and Gottfried Deim have cultivated their organic crops and vineyards since the early 2000s. In this idyllic setting, their passion for organic farming took root during a time when such a switch was rare. As they’ve grown into the practice, they’ve confirmed time and again that choosing organic was the right decision for them.

Their philosophy is simple: “Our fields are farmed without any chemicals, bringing natural harvests directly to the end consumer. That’s important to us.” With deep commitment to quality, the Deim family treasures the natural quality of their produce and knows the value it brings to their own lives as well.

Mr. Deim likes to say, “The earthworm is the organic farmer’s free employee,” in reference to the humble earthworm’s hard work of enriching the soil and creating natural water reservoirs. This “hero of the soil” not only nurtures crops but also provides top-quality organic fertilizer.

On these naturally nurtured fields, crops like flax, camelina, hemp, and oil pumpkins have thrived for Schalk Mühle for many years. “We’re so glad to have a partner like Schalk Mühle,” says Mr. Deim.
