While preparation takes some time, it is certainly worth it: First, soak the raw runner beans in water for several hours, preferably overnight. Then remove and discard any beans floating on top. Bring the remaining runner beans to a boil in fresh water and simmer for approx. 2 hours over low heat in a pot until soft.
