(Camelina sativa)
The camelina plant may not be one of the best known. But it is one of the newcomers, and the freshly pressed oil from camelina seeds tastes excellent. Although “new” is not quite accurate, as camelina was already known to the Celts as an oilseed crop and has really just been forgotten. So if you are not a fan of flaxseed oil, our organic camelina oil is exactly the right alternative. After all, camelina oil is also rich in alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3 fatty acids).
Perhaps you have already driven past a camelina field and not recognized it, or mistaken it for rapeseed. Both bloom a beautiful yellow.
