(Linum usitatissimum)
The flax plant has its origins in the Middle East and has been valued as a cultivated plant for thousands of years. Today it is also at home in Austrian fields and delights in summer with its delicate, sky-blue blossoms.
Golden flax seeds are a special variety of classic flax. The biggest difference lies in the seeds: while golden flax impresses with its light, golden-yellow seeds, conventional flax varieties have brown seeds. The blossoms, however, shine in a delicate blue in both varieties – a sight that delights anew every year during the flowering period from June to August.
