Are you looking for a plant-based alternative to pulled pork? Our pulled jackfruit burger is perfect for your next cookout or BBQ: juicy, savory, and packed with plant-based flavor. For 4 burgers you will need:
– Burger buns (find the recipe to make your own here)
– 1 can of jackfruit
– Some rapeseed oil (for frying)*
– Some lettuce
– 4 slices of vegan cheddar
– 1 tomato
– 2 onions (1 1/2 for frying, 1/2 for garnish)
– Approx. 200 ml water (to dilute the sauce for the jackfruit)
– 3 tbsp BBQ sauce (find the recipe to make your own here)

It’s this easy:
1. Drain the canned jackfruit thoroughly (if necessary, pat dry any remaining water with a paper towel).
2. First, sauté 1 1/2 onions in a pan with rapeseed oil over medium heat until translucent, then add the jackfruit and fry for 5 minutes.
3. Next, add the BBQ sauce and water, stir, reduce the heat slightly, and let the jackfruit simmer in the sauce with a lid for about 40 minutes (add more water if necessary to prevent the jackfruit from burning).
4. After simmering, pull the jackfruit apart in the pan using a wooden spoon.
5. Slice the buns and top with BBQ sauce, lettuce, pulled jackfruit, cheddar, a slice of tomato, and an onion ring if desired.
