A classic dessert that in Austria is also often served as a main course. A particularly fluffy, tender Kaiserschmarren can also be made with our hemp powder. The slightly nutty hemp flavour creates a new, extremely positive taste experience.
Ingredients
- 180 g wheat flour
- 50 g organic hemp protein powder
- 60 g organic raw cane sugar
- 300 ml soy milk (or another milk)
- 4 organic eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of ground cinnamon
- Oil/butter for frying
- Icing sugar, coconut flakes, syrup, honey, … whatever your heart desires!
Preparation
- First, separate the eggs. Whisk the yolks with the wheat flour, hemp nut protein powder, sugar, milk, a pinch of salt and cinnamon until smooth and thick.
- Then beat the egg whites with a mixer until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold into the prepared batter.
- Heat a little oil/butter in a large pan and then pour in the batter. Over medium heat, let the batter set on the bottom until it has a brown, firm base.
- Use a fork to divide the batter into larger pieces and turn them over. Let it set again. Once the batter has browned again somewhat, divide into small pieces. Add a little more cooking oil and toss well.
- Shortly before serving, dust the Kaiserschmarren with icing sugar or similar and serve with apple compote or plum roast.
Tip
You can also add raisins to the basic Kaiserschmarren mixture if you like.
