(Cannabis sativa)
Hemp is one of the oldest cultivated plants and originally comes from Russia. Most of today’s cultivation takes place in Europe, although only the cultivation of low-THC varieties is permitted and a permit must be obtained for this purpose. The benefits and positive effects of the hemp plant are becoming increasingly popular. In addition to industry, more and more quality-oriented businesses are finding their way toward hemp products. The reason for this lies in its versatile range of applications: papermaking, clothing, insulation, soaps, oils… there are almost no limits to this raw material. Furthermore, hemp binds CO2 and is also good for the soil, as it loosens it and thus makes it suitable for further crop rotation.
