Buckwheat

(Fagopyrum esculentum)

Buckwheat is sown from mid-May to early June, turning into a magnificent pink field during its flowering period. The name wheat is somewhat confusing, however, as buckwheat is actually more of a grain. Regardless of its name or origin, buckwheat has become particularly popular among people with gluten intolerance.

The healthy ingredients make this knotweed plant particularly interesting: lysine, lecithin, bioflavonoids such as rutin, various trace elements, minerals, and vitamins.
