Ingredients
- 250g sushi rice (or pudding rice)
- 50g raw sunflower seeds
- 400ml water
- Salt or organic vegetable stock powder
- Various vegetables as desired
- Organic carrots
- Avocado
- Organic cucumber
- Nori sheets
- …
Preparation
Cook the sushi rice according to instructions with 400 ml water (you can use salt or vegetable stock powder for seasoning, depending on taste). Add the sunflower seeds to the rice and cook together.
Allow the rice to cool completely before rolling it into makis.
Wash the vegetables, peel if necessary, and cut into fine strips.
To prepare the makis, place a nori sheet in front of you on a plate and spread the cooled rice on it with a tablespoon so that approximately 2/3 of the sheet is covered with a thin layer of rice. Place various vegetable strips on the first third or in the middle of the rice filling, but not too much, otherwise they won’t be bite-sized pieces anymore.
Now roll up the nori sheet completely. You can seal the roll well with a little water. Simply make as many rolls as needed until all the rice is used up.
Finally, cut slices from these rolls, i.e. these makis.
Tip
Best served cold with soy sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger.
The ideal party snack, because makis are super easy to prepare in advance!
