Our organic virgin black cumin oil is obtained from carefully selected black cumin seeds from Austrian organic agriculture and gently cold-pressed. This makes it one of the few black cumin oils with traceable, regional origin – a crucial quality difference. The Austrian origin enables short transport routes and full traceability back to the field.

The careful processing optimally preserves the natural properties of the seeds. The oil impresses with its intensely spicy, slightly tart flavor and its unmistakable, distinctive note. Compared to imported oils, black cumin from Austria often proves to be somewhat more intense and expressive in taste.

At Schalk Mühle, black cumin oil is produced with particular care and is one of our most sought-after specialty oils. It is intentionally used sparingly and is ideal for refining oriental dishes, dips, or salads.
